farewell to intimacies; introducing yield guide
Hello. If you’re getting this email, it’s because you subscribed to intimacies, an occasional letter project I wrote from 2016-2021, first on TinyLetter, then on Substack. Here’s a short note to say that intimacies has officially ended—and wasn’t it a nice run?—in order to make room for a new project.
Yield Guide is a letter series inspired by field guides, foraging and plant identification, art history, close reading, and deep listening. In each letter, I’ll be sharing one meandering observation on a single subject, from medicinal plants in Prospect Park to drone music to the poetry of Bashō.
Yield Guide launches July 10th and publishes every other Monday. At launch, every first observation of the month will be free; a second will be available to paid subscribers. As the project continues, I’ll be including interviews and longer essays. It’s my hope that this project will be an exercise in slow and deliberate looking, and also in returning to writing as a site of community, experimentation, and pleasure.
I won’t be migrating this mailing list, so if you’ve missed these letters, or want to continue to support my work, please subscribe at the link below! And if you have a friend who might like to sign up, feel free to forward this email.
Let’s walk slowly through the meadow together.
xo,
LP
